Tournament Note
Welcome to the President's Day Weekend Youth Basketball Championships! We would like to thank all the great youth basketball programs that are participating in this event for choosing us for your youth basketball experience. We look forward to providing your organization with an excellent weekend of exciting & competitive youth basketball! We wish good luck this weekend to all teams! Venue for the event:Sprayberry High School2525 Sandy Plain Road Marietta Georgia 30066Admission to the event:Saturday: Free for toddlers 5 & under$8 for young children pays for all games$10 for all others pays for all gamesSunday: Free for toddlers 5 & under $8 for young children pays for all games$10 for all others pays for all gamesGame Rules:This event will use GHSA rules for ALL game rules unless those rules differ from any rules below. The team listed 1st on the schedule is the home team. White or light colored uniform tops are needed unless agreed upon by both teams. All decisions in this case are at the discretion of the tournament director on site.A team must have at least 5 players to start a game unless agreed upon by both teams. A team may play with less than 5 players during a game as long as the original starting requirements were met. Players are allowed 5 personal fouls. Technical fouls DO count as personal fouls.- All decisions made in these cases will be made by the Tournament Director(s) in charge.1. Teams are allowed a 10 minute grace period beyond the scheduled start time of the game. If a team is unable to produce the total starting amount of players required they will be charged with a forfeit unless the two teams agree to play. All decisions made in these cases will be at the discretion of the Tournament Director(s) in charge.2. With the exception of injury, coaches are not permitted on the playing floor. The Head Coach is the only person permitted to discuss a call with the referee and should be limited to questions regarding rule interpretations. Violations of this rule will result in an automatic Technical foul.3. Ball Sizes will be as follows:a. K - 6th grade boys and all girls divisions will use a 28.5 size ball unless otherwise agreed upon by the coaches.b. Everyone else will use a regulation sized ball.4. Time lengths, foul line and goal distances will be as follows:Age,Time Length of Quarters,Foul Line Distance, Goal Height1st-5th Grades 6 minutes 15 feet 10 feet6th- 8th Grades 7 minutes 15 feet 10 feet9th-12th Grades 8 minutes 15 feet 10 feet5. All teams regardless of age division will receive 4 full time outs6. Games will be played with a STOP clock. The game clock will only RUN for:a. when a team is leading by more than 20 points. It will not stop until the lead is under 20 in the first 3 quarters. **If a team has a lead of more than 20 points in the 4th quarter, the clock will not stop until the lead falls below the 10 point mark or time runs out.b. Any situation deemed necessary to run the clock for purposes deemed necessary- approval must be made by the tournament director in charge. All decisions made in these cases will be at the discretion of the Tournament Director(s) in charge.7. Overtimea. In the event that a game is tied at the end of regulation play, a (2) minute overtime will be played.b. If the game remains tied after one overtime period, over time periods of two minutes will be played until the tie is broken. The clock will stop with every whistle.c. Each team will have/receive one time out at the beginning of each overtime period. They do not roll over.8. Full Court Pressurea. If at any time during the game a team (any age division) gains a lead of 30 points or more, NO more full court pressure will be allowed until the score differential drops below 20 points. We are about sportsmanship!9. The Lanea. In all age divisions the standard 3 second lane restriction applies10. No more than three (3) coaches will be allowed on the bench at any given time. Only 1 coach is allowed to be standing & coaching the team. The other 2 coaches MUST remain seated. Violation of this rule will result in a technical foul.11.
